Frequently asked questions
Do exchange rates on this page update automatically?
Yes. Rates are pulled live from the Frankfurter API (sourced from the European Central Bank) each time you load the page. If live rates can't be reached, the calculator falls back to a recent approximate rate and tells you so.
How does the location detection work?
We use your IP address to guess your country (no GPS permission needed) so the calculator can pre-fill itself. It's a guess, not a certainty — use "not right?" to change it any time, and nothing about your location is stored.
How does the home-vs-local time widget know my home timezone?
It starts from your device's own timezone setting, which is usually your home timezone even while you're traveling with location services off. Tap "change home" under the home clock if you'd like to set a different one — it's saved only in your browser.
